deAsra Foundation on Monday organized a free “Food Business Workshop” at Kesari Wada for existing food entrepreneurs or people who aspire to start a food business, where eminent people from the food industry shared their knowledge & experience that will help the entrepreneurs to run their food business successfully.

Ms. Rupa Kanvinde, Expert in Food Processing & Preservation Technology, Mr. Kishor Sarpotdar, owner of Poona Guest House and Sarpotdar Caterers, Prof. Dr. Shriram Naikare, Ph.D. in Food Science and Mr. Jalaj Mohan Pingle, Barcode consultant were the guest speakers at the event.

Ms. Rupa Kanvinde, said, “Being a food entrepreneur, only selling should not be your aim but also provide and keeping your food safe all the time. That will create a good image of your product in minds of customers and they will make it brand.”

Food Industry is one of the fastest growing industries in India. However, there are lot of challenges involved like production, supply, quality control, barcoding, marketing, stock management and legal formalities.

With experience in fields as diverse as Food Science, Packaging, Food Processing & Preservation Technology and Marketing etc. mentors shared their experience & knowledge in their respective fields at the workshop. More than 70 people attended the workshop and were seeking mentor’s guidance for their further business plan.
