Pune, 7 July, 2018 - It was a memorable day on 7th July when this time Lila Poonawalla Foundation (LPF) gave over 300 school girls scholarships. As the 8th School Scholarship Award Function was held at MFH Hall, Cummins, Balewadi, Parents were full of joy.
The function was too big to handle in one sitting. Therefore it was split into 2 functions. One in the morning and other in the afternoon followed by lunch and dinner. Morning function was honored by LILA FELLOW DR. SARIKA DEORE (recipient LPF PG scholarship in 2001 and PA 2009) as a Chief Guest and Mrs. SHIVANI NAIK SHAH (Mrs. India Queen of Substance 2018) as Guest of Honor.

In the afternoon function another LILA FELLOW DR. RUTA LIMAYE (recipient of LPF PG scholarship 1999). All three were unified in their message to the young girls and their parents, of the importance of education.
Mrs. Poonawalla in her welcome speech at both the occasions conveyed to the parents that instead of saving money for the dowry of their daughters, they should spend on her education and enable her to earn her living life time.

These are no ordinary scholarships. These scholarships also include school bags, cycles, shoes and books. Special counseling not only for the awardees but mentoring will be done to their parents. So that all conflicts are resolved & girls will sail through their education. The scholarship is for a period of 10 years from 7th standard to their graduation.
